Welcome to the blog, reader!

If you’re into YA Fantasy, great books, new authors, and honest reviews then you’re in the right place.

The Unruly Reader promises the following:

  1. No Spoilers, ever.
I am a staunch member of #TeamNoSpoilers and will never ruin a plot or ending for a fellow reader. If a blog is posted with spoilers, it will be appropriately marked so you know what to read and what to avoid.
  2. Honest feedback, always.
If I loved a book, I will gush. If a book was okay, I’ll let you know. If a book was horrible (I’m looking at you, Catcher in the Rye) I will do my best to keep you from wasting your time on it the way I did.
  3. Book reviews, frequently.
I’ve set a personal goal for 50 books this year, and that’s just new reads. I’ll do my best to share my thoughts on as many books as I can, as often as I can. If you have a book you want to be reviewed- ask! There’s a chance I’ve read it, or it’s on my list to read (that’s a long list) and I’m happy to take suggestions.

The Unruly Reader also warns the following:

  1. Language happens.
I’m an adult reader with an adult vocabulary. I guess that title should actually read ‘Shit happens’.
  2. Old books are beloved.
You may find some reviews are coming from books published a year, multiple years, or a lot of years ago. That doesn’t mean they’re not worth reading, though, so give them a chance. If I’m telling you they’re good, it’s because they’re good.
  3. Lists have to be at least 3 points long.
Even if I don’t have a third point to make, I will add another point of uselessness just to make sure the list gets to a number I like. Sort of like this. Okay, exactly like this.
